My last trip to Italy was one of exploration. My philosophy in life has always been that ‘one must always pay attention.’ So when a friend of a friend introduced me to two young Italian watchmakers, I did just that. When traveling to Italy, other than enjoying the lifestyle, art and culture, my desire is to discover small boutique craftspeople and introduce them to an American market. Brothers Marco and Paolo of Tarondo are two of those people. Of course, I cannot claim to have discovered them (the company was founded in 1965 by Papa’ Antonio) but I can hopefully introduce their fine custom watches to a broader market.
Antonio developed a love for orologi (watches) as a young man growing up in Udine in the Northern part of Italy. A master watchmaker, his work is distinguished by his steady appetite for quality work with particular attention to technical updates.
The Tarondo family philosophy is based on craftsmanship, refined workmanship with precise hand movements and attention to detail. These qualities give the watch a unique personality. No cookie cutter or mass market here. These watches are geared to those who want to stand out from the crowd. The knowledge and skill accumulated in their collective years has led to the creation of a fine and respected line of timepieces which represent the highest standard of design, technology, reliability and represent the nature of the most refined artisans.
The new collection T2Q was born last year and is considered the technological branch of Tarondo Italian brand.
Designed, manufactured and produced entirely in Italy, it is no surprise that the T2Q carries the red, white and green colors of the Italian flag.
Equipped with an exclusive hybrid movement, with large date and retrograde day of the week, they are available with PVD case coating and are MIL-STD-810 certified, for use in extreme conditions.
They are available from Italy by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Mention LADOLCEVILLAGIFT to receive a 10% discount
